The Association was created in 1888 to discussing the direction it wanted technical education in Dundee to take, in order to maintain a skilled workforce for the benefit of businesses and the local economy. It also regularly monitored the work of the Dundee Technical Institute, included the courses being offered and the numbers of students taking them. Dates covered are 24 March 1888-21 November 1907.
