Minutes of academic and day-to-day management created by the Management Committee. Surviving separate minutes of other sub-committees, such as the Board of Studies, are also contained here.

Records of implementing the academic functions of the institution, including correspondence and surviving registers of student enrolments and their academic achievements. The last volume of the registers crosses over into the period of the Dundee Institute of Art and Technology, ending in 1936.

Records of the financial administration of the institution, including top level reporting accounts (abstracts) and surviving cash books.

This contains records about the buildings. They relate almost exclusively to the new building project in Bell Street, that was finished in 1911.

This contains Principal’s reports showing how the decisions of the Governing Body and Academic Management were being implemented. Also included are legal documents (educational memoranda) detailing how the institution was to be administered and governed.

This contains syllabuses (prospectuses) advertising courses offered and describing their content. Prize lists from 1892/3 onwards also provide official records of certificates and prizes awarded to students for their achievements.

A number of early photographs show the buildings and rooms of the Institute, including art rooms and textiles rooms.
